The amount of press that India is getting lately is unreal. The latest is Time magazine with their cover story on India. About 3 weeks back The Economist did a 14 page special on India. The Time magazine piece is pretty much the same stuff that has been floating around, just rehashed and given a sexy cover. The saddest part of the story is the writer gets the name of the city wrong, saying that Mumbai was the old name and is now called Bombay, which of course is NOT the case. Mumbai was one of many names used in the past, then the British gave it the anglicised name of Bombay, then in 1995 the government changed it back to Mumbai.

As many of you know, this is my last weekend in the States, I head to Bombay on Sunday for what seems to be an indefinate period. Very excited to head over to Bombay, but in the meantime I’ve just been enjoying the last couple weeks in SoCal (Southern California). The weather has just been amazing and I’ve been to the beach every day for the last couple weeks and just can’t get enough of it. Got a bunch of beach tunes on my iPod as I jog along the ocean, one that i’ve played over and over is Surfin’ USA from Beach Boys, here are some of the lyrics:
