As we come to the end of 2024 I thought it would fun to talk about about the podcast series called Watts Happening. At the beginning of 2024, Quench a division of the Ador Group approached me to co-host a monthly podcast on electric vehicles (EVs) news.
If you know me, you know I love talking about cars—give me an audience, and I’m in my happy place! Now, when it comes to EVs, sure, they’re exciting as products—futuristic gizmos on wheels and all—but what really revs my engine is the business side of this lightning-fast (pun intended) industry.
For a country like India, which imports over 85% of its crude oil (yikes!), that’s a problem begging for a solution. Enter EVs: the first baby step toward reducing our oil addiction. Sure, right now they’re mostly powered by electricity from coal (thank you, India’s grid), but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Over time, we’ll shift gears to greener energy sources like hydro, solar, and wind. It’s a long journey, but, like any road trip, you’ve got to start somewhere—even if that “somewhere” is a coal-powered charging station. 🚗⚡
Basically every month Onkar and I talk about the biggest news events in the EV space and discuss it for about 15-20 minutes. On average, we have about 3-4 news stories and it’s a mix of Indian and international coverage.
